Cade has a membership with Colorado Waterfowl so he has access to private property around Colorado, mostly North and East of where we live. On Presidents day we decided to take the boys to one of these properties, set up some targets and play with our guns. We pulled out our 270 rifle, 22 semi auto., 9mm handgun and 380 handgun, and of course Callan had his bb gun.
In the beginning Callan didn't want to shoot the semi-auto. 22 because it's quite a bit bigger and more intimidating than his bb gun, but once he shot it,...it's now his favorite;) He's actually a pretty good shot. Though he is right handed, he has had to learn how to shoot left handed because of his "special arm".....his left arm doesn't pronate completly so he can't steady a gun with is left hand. It's been tricky, but he's figuring it out.
Cade and I also went to an indoor range for the first time on Feb 5th,....I surprised him and took him for his birthday, it was a blast!!!
Cai enjoys shooting but would rather play around on the dirt hills with his trucks.
It's nice that we have found a few places we can go shoot for free, except for the cost of his $900.00 a year membership to hunt waterfowl, but I try not to think of it that way;)

My mother turned 50 on February 10th. Dad decided to throw a huge surprise party for her, inviting her brother's & sister's from out of state, neices, nephews, parent's, kids, etc.... Dad reserved a private room in Orem at Carrabas Italian resturaunt.
I flew out to Utah on the 9th and stayed with my brother Cory and his wife Aimee where I was able to meet my baby niece Laurn for the first time. Lauren is now four months old, and is definitely the cutest baby girl I have ever seen!
On the 10th Cory and I met my brother Scott at my aunt Tiffany's who I hadn't seen for about 2 years. We were able to chat with her for a while until we took off to meet everyone in Orem for the party.
When my Mother walked into the room, she couldn't believe her eyes,(you should have seen the look on her face), and even more she couldn't believe that my Dad had put together such an amazing surprise!!! He truly is an incredible father/husband/grandfather!
It was so much fun to be together with my family again, most of whom I hadn't seen in years, and celebrate a special day with my Mother.
I was able to go back and visit with Tiffany, my Grandma Betty and My brother's for a while and then drove back to Cory and Aimee's to stay the night with Scott. Scott dropped me off at the airport the next morning.
It was a short trip, but definitely one to be remembered!

Grandma Laura and Grandpa Mark came to visit us the first week of February, which was also when we celebrated Cade's b-day so it worked out perfect. We went out to dinner, the guys went hunting while Callan and Cai hung out with Gramdma Laura and made crafts. We all went to a Monster Truck show with friends the Jensen's. It was Grandma and Grandpa's first Monster Truck show, so they thought it was pretty neat. We loving having family and friends come to visit us here in Denver. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa, we love you and miss you already!!!

“Mom guess what! When you smash a Pider (spider) really hard you get juice.”

Cai scratched his head in the middle of the night with his fingernail (we asked him” “Cai how did you get that scratch on your fore-head? Um, an Indian jumped out from the water with his arrow and scratched me.”

Callan asked Santa for a snowboard this year. Cade took him up the hill for his first time and he was pretty dang good, even on the icy snow.

During waterfoul hunting season, Cade and Callan get up at 4:00 in the morning to sit in a hole in the ground in freezing temps. and wait and wait and wait for the geese to fly by,... sound crazy??? Mmm, I think so;)
So they claim that it's a whole lot of fun, but honestly, I may never know because: I don't like the cold, getting up at 4:00 a.m. to sit in a hole just to sit perfectly still for hours on end, and I really don't like shooting animals that taste really gross. Wow that sounds really pessimistic.
In all honestly however, I am really glad that Cade and Callan have a hobby they can enjoy together. Cade has found him a hunting partner for life. Cade does make a really sexy hunter, and Callan is so dang cute all bundled up.

Cade and I took a 7 day cruise (our first) down the Mexican Riviera with friends Joe & Ricci Cook, their 2 kids p.j. & Kash, and niece & nephew Tyrell & Destrilee. We sailed off from L.A. down to Cabo, Matzatlan & Puerto Vallarta. We also spent Halloween on the cruise, which was a blast! Being waited on for 7 days, not having to cook, not being tied down to a schedule, having all the entertainment one could possibly fit into their day......a cruise is HEAVEN! I can't wait until our next cruise;) it's definitely the way to go. Our camera broke the 2nd day of our cruise so we didn't get too many pics.
While Cade and I were relaxing on the ship, Callan and Cai were spending Halloween in Disneyland with their Grandma's (Laura Beck & Carol Carver). They enjoyed all the attractions of Disney, the rides, parades & of course the pool at the hotel. They also went to California adventure for a private trick-or-treating tour, and Knottsberry Farm. It was also Callan's first time on an airplane, he thought it was soooooo cool! The boys had the time of their life.
